Recovery is the restoration
or return to health. A healing of the mind, body emotion and spirit. It does not come overnight and it does not come easy.
Just like recovery from a physical injury or a prolonged illness, recovery from addiction is a process. In fact, it is a life-long
process. Anybody suffering with an incurable, progressive and fatal illness must take certain steps to insure their survival.
People who suffer with diabetes (a disease with no cure) have to use insulin each day. People who suffer from high blood presure (a
condition with no cure) must take medication each day. People who suffer from addiction (a disease with no cure) must
have a personal program of recovery each day. It comes down to a daily choice, do what is necessary to live with the
disease, or die with the disease. For those who embrace it, recovery is possible and they can join the millions of recovering
people that lead happy, healthy lives each day.
