Addiction is a family disease. That
means that not only the person afflicted with the disease suffers, the entire family suffers. More families have been torn
apart by addiction than by any other means known to man. The direct and "collateral" damage caused by this disease
is incalculable. What makes matters worse is that so little is truly understood about addiction within our general population.
The only way we can deal effectively with this disease and with our own suffering is to make the effort to understand addiction
and then to take the action required to heal. Those of you that are suffering right now know, it is easier said then done.
We need support and understanding from people who know about this disease and who have learned what to do and how to begin
to heal. It is not a quick or easy process, but recovery for the family is possible.
